So what better way for Roxanne Pallett to celebrate her new role than to head off on a sunshine break in Lanzarote before she gets stuck in to filming the school-based drama.
The 28-year-old actress, most famous for playing Jo Sugden in Emmerdale, was spotted showing off her curves in a red and white spotty two-piece as she basked in the sunshine during her holiday.

Despite looking fantastic in her pretty polkadot bikini, Roxanne said recently she's not a fan of diet, and could never reduce her food intake because she loves eating too much.
She said: 'I'm really normal about food. In this industry I've seen girls have a real issue about eating. But I came from a home where no one spoke about weight or dieting and it was a triumph if you got seconds.
'Thankfully, I love food and enjoy everything about it!'

She said: 'Getting active made such a difference to my weight and shape. I jog three times a week but only for 20 minutes. I do it in the mornings because it clears my head and sets me up for the day.
'I enjoy going on power walks with my mum, Monica and I do my tummy exercises every day, to keep my stomach toned.'
