When an egocentric individual meets someone for the first time, he will silently be asking himself, "What can this person do for me?" In other words, the ego is always on the take.

The ego's role in comparing and classifying the other is undoubtedly why we are all currently living in a class-based, monetary society where the have's rule over the have-not's. The Golden Rule interpreted by the ego is, "He who has the gold, rules." This dysfunction of the ego pertains to its need to feel superior to another in some way. Money and the status that it buys allows the ego to enjoy a feeling of superiority over everyone around them.

Contrary to what you might think, the ego is not unique to the individual. It appears distinctive at first glance, but underneath the surface, its underlying construct is identical in everyone. At the highest level, there really is only one egoic frequency. You have a choice to be identified with it, or to transcend it. Self Transcendence Life Coaching can help you to free your mind from the ego's control.

You have no control over yourself when you're trying to control life situations or other people. All you're doing is creating unnecessary stress for yourself and others. Here are a few brief examples:

I was at the Dentist getting my teeth cleaned and while I was waiting patiently in my chair, I observed an elderly lady in the booth next to me who wasn't being quite so patient. Without warning, she began screaming off the top of her lungs, "Let's get this show on the road! I haven't got all day! I've got work to do!" The Dentist quickly returned and explained that he was simply waiting for the novocaine to take effect so that she wouldn't be in pain when he pulled her tooth.

Or...

I observed a man yelling from his car at a teenage boy who was doing nothing more than walking across the street. The walk light was green and the man in the car was impatiently waiting for the boy in the cross walk to finish crossing so that he could make a right-hand turn. The impatient driver then began screaming at the boy, "Why don't you take you're own damn time you idiot!" After the boy made his way about three-fourths of the way across the street, the driver then floored the car to turn right, screeching his tires, nearly hitting the boy.

In both examples, the angry display of impatience is the way in which the ego mindlessly reacts to situations beyond its control. The ego actually feels threatened when things don't happen according to its own schedule. Like a little child, it must have what it wants now. This "life-threatening" fear is then projected onto the other in the form of blame. The other becomes "the enemy" in the eyes of the ego just for making it wait. But in the first example, the Dentist was not intentionally trying to make his patient wait, he simply wanted the pain-killer to take effect. In the second example, the teenager crossing the street was not intentionally trying to delay the driver. He even had a green walk light. But non-intention to cause harm on the part of the other doesn't matter to the ego, because from its narcissistic perspective, the other is always at fault. A Self Transcendence Life Coach can help you identify the ego in yourself and in others.

In reality, these unnecessary dramas created by the ego play out in our society a million times a day, every day. Sometimes the exchanges become physically violent on top of the emotional violence. We see this happening all the time with road rage where people are run off the road, or even shot. Because the ego has no control over itself, it projects its control outwardly. In this way, it creates unnecessary stress and conflict, spewing out negativity, and polluting the world with emotional violence. Self Transcendence Life Coaching will provide you with all the tools, techniques, and psychology you'll need to transcend your ego.
