HIAB stands for Hydrauliska Industri AB, and was formed in Hudiksvall, Sweden in 1944, when Eric Sundin, a Scandinavian ski manufacturer converted the power produced by a trucks engine into a lifting machine by the use of hydraulics for a truck mounted crane.
The company has been producing quality trucks and cranes since its establishment and now has 5 different trucks used in road construction and heavy lifting. HIAB started distributing its products across Finland and neighboring nations, and eventually worldwide.
