The type of fats you consume in your diet can have a large impact on your acne condition. There are some fats which will make your acne problems worse and other healthier fats which may improve the overall skin condition. Of course, this is good advice to follow at all times, as it's good for your overall health, but it can be especially important if you're suffering from acne. Reduce the amount of saturated fats in your diet. These are the type of fats which are solid at room temperature and are derived from animals, such as milk, cheese, beef, etc. On the other hand Hydrogenated fats, which lead to heart disease should be avoided. Fats found in fish, olive oil, and flax seeds are considered to be healthy fats. Aside from these, most oils, including commonly used vegetable oils, should be avoided as much as possible.

A natural acne home remedy which is effective is lemon juice. L-ascorbic acid is a substance found in Lemons. The L-ascorbic acid fights off bacteria and cleanses the pores. L-ascorbic acid, is found in many acne skin care products, read the ingredients and see for yourself. Using lemons to fight acne is easy. Apply lemon juice with a cotton ball to your face, take care not to get the juice into your eyes. Leave the juice on your face and in the morning wash the lemon juice off. If you want to get the most potent effect, squeeze fresh lemons into a bowl rather than buying lemon juice. If you are concerned the lemon juice may be too strong then go ahead and dilute the juice with a small amount of water.

Many people think exposing acne to the sun will cure the blemishes but this isn't necessarily true. It's true that if you lie in the sun, your skin will redden or darken and acne pimples will be less visible, but this isn't really a cure. Too much sunlight can actually irritate your skin, and cause extra breakouts. Therefore over exposure to the sun's rays may actually make your acne even worse! On the other hand, some sunlight is healthy for the skin and the body, so you don't want to avoid the sun altogether. Just keep exposure to natural levels. Laying on in the sun for hours on end will not cure acne.

You won't have to live with acne breakouts forever. Keep looking of an acne solution until you find what works on your skin type. You just have to be willing to try as many treatments as you can until you find one that does the trick. The acne remedies we've looked at here may work for you, but you have to give them a chance. Stick to the remedy for a full two weeks and then decide if there is any improvement in your acne breakouts.
